What crisis teams know that strategists forget
A roundtable with practitioners who work under acute pressure — and what their instincts reveal about planning in calmer rooms.
YOULAB · Feb 3, 2025 · Roundtable transcript
We convened practitioners from emergency response, frontline health, and humanitarian logistics alongside corporate strategists. The gap in language was immediate.
Crisis teams talk about tempo, trust, and who is allowed to interrupt. Strategy teams talk about options, alignment, and sequencing. Both are describing adaptability; only one is describing it under load.
The transcript below is lightly edited. What stayed with us was a single line: plans are a way of rehearsing attention, not a way of controlling outcomes.
